Frunk lighting

Image
Night falls, you open the trunk and fumble around for that screwdriver you need to finish putting the furniture together, crap with the huge frunk full of junk, searching in the dark becomes a small challenge... ok, maybe not, but the light in the frunk is a little challenging.. Brian added a couple of post lights  (link at the bottom), but here's my spin on the problem... Alternatively I'm looking at routing and fitting a strip to the underside of the bonnet.. running a wire has a few challenges including not coming into contact with the rubber seal otherwise over time a deformation will take. As the light will be outside the weather seal, I'll be using a weather resistant LED strip... The connector for the frunk light / switch can be found on mouser.com , that way it was cleaner to create a custom wiring harness vs having to cut into the cable to tap power.... Male plug connector:   571-1-1718346-1  / female crimp pins (3 off):  571-5-928999-6 Female

Can we make it easier to open that frunk?

Opening the frunk is 'ok' with the app .... but it doesn't survive the simplicity test.. Simplicity is relative, as with everything, but having to dig into pocket open phone, open app or click the notification bar and then click on 'open frunk' ... wow I'm exhausted just typing it. wondering maybe nfc, maybe bluetooth... maybe nfc tag near the front T, at least a tap from the phone is less than a fumble Brian at  i1Tesla  had the awesome idea for raising the trunk when it opens, go check his  YouTube channel out  here . When applying to the bonnet, normal nfc tags won't work due the metal, although shopnfc have some tags ( here ) for 84c (MOQ 10 / Nov2018) that can be applied to metal surfaces! Couple this with ' Tasker ' and 'Tasker plugin for Tesla' and you can now start connect the dots.
